Mindset Workout 1: Grit

Grit is your match-day engine. It’s the ability to keep competing when you’re tired, stay locked in under pressure, and fight for one more ball—again and again. Use this workout to rehearse gritty moments before they happen so your habits show up when it counts.  

âś… Hacks to Implement:

  1. “One More Ball” Cue — When fatigue creeps in, whisper or say, “One more ball,” before the point to trigger full-effort movement through the rally.  

  2. Pressure Reset — Two slow breaths → light slap to thigh or strings → say your mantra: “Compete to the last ball.” Use this before high-pressure points.  

  3. Wrist Reminder — Pre-match, write FIGHT on your wristband or tape. Glance at it on changeovers to reignite effort and focus.
