Activation Workouts: Happiness Study Trial Questions

As part of the AEA Institute's Bootcamps, participants will engage in five Activation Workouts designed to challenge and develop their mental fitness. Each workout focuses on a key aspect of personal growth, using reflective exercises to integrate the day’s theme into real-life experiences. These workouts consist of short-answer questions, typically 4-5 per topic (i.e. "Reframing a Past Situation"), per session, encouraging participants to reflect deeply and apply what they’ve learned.

For today’s session, this Activation Workout will feature one targeted question per topic, guiding you to explore and connect with the theme on a personal level.

Activation Workout Breakdown:

Reframe a Situation
Reflect on a past experience and explore how changing your perspective can alter its impact on your mindset.

Visualize the Future
Envision the future you want to create and identify the actions necessary to bring it to life.

Present Day Activity
Focus on the present moment and consider what small, intentional actions you can take today to align with your goals.

Identity Self-Mantra
Craft a personal mantra that embodies your values, strengths, and aspirations, and reflect on how it shapes your identity.

Role Models
Identify key role models in your life and reflect on how their traits can inspire and influence your own growth.

Through these targeted reflections, participants will actively engage with each theme, gaining deeper insights and making real-life connections to their mental fitness journey.

Question 1: Reflecting on a Past Aspiration

 

Identify a Past Aspiration 

 

Think about a goal or dream you had in the last 12 months. Whether or not you achieved it, we’ll explore how this aspiration shaped your actions and helped you grow.

 

Example: "I set a goal to join a new club or athletic team or be part of a new organization, but I wasn’t sure if I could make it happen."

 

We’ll ask you five questions to help you reflect on this aspiration and how it impacted your growth and motivation.
